Our story

Real bread takes time. We give it plenty.

Flour & Fern started with a home sourdough starter and a farmers market table. Today we bake for the whole neighborhood, the same slow way, with flour from Colorado mills, real butter, and nothing we can't pronounce. Come in for a loaf, stay for a morning bun.

Why Flour & Fern

Baked the hard way, on purpose

Fresh daily at 5 AM

Our bakers start before dawn so everything in the case was made that morning, never the day before.

Local ingredients

Colorado-milled flour, local honey and eggs, and front range fruit whenever the season allows.

Custom cake consults

Sit down with our cake designer to plan flavors, fillings, and a design that fits your celebration.

Sourdough specialty

Every loaf is naturally leavened with our nine-year-old starter. No commercial yeast, ever.

"The country sourdough is the best bread I've had in Colorado. We get there early on Saturdays because it really does sell out."

"They made my daughter's birthday cake and it was stunning. The lemon raspberry filling had the whole party asking where it came from."

"Worth the drive every weekend. The almond croissants are dangerous and the staff remembers your name by the second visit."

Before you visit

How far in advance should I order a custom cake?
We ask for at least two weeks notice for custom cakes, and three to four weeks for weddings and large events. Call us at (303) 555-0166 and we will walk you through flavors, sizing, and design.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes. We bake gluten-friendly muffins, almond flour cookies, and a flourless chocolate cake most days. Please note everything is made in a kitchen that handles wheat.
Do you offer wholesale for cafes and restaurants?
We do. We supply sourdough loaves, sandwich breads, and pastries to local cafes and restaurants around the south metro. Call us to set up a standing order.
Can I preorder for the holidays?
Please do. Holiday preorders open about six weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas. Pies, dinner rolls, and cookie boxes sell out every year, so early orders are smart.
